Former U.S. President Donald Trump recently unveiled an AI-generated image of a potential U.S. Space Force uniform, drawing immediate scrutiny. The proposed attire quickly ignited a firestorm of online criticism. Many social media users pointed out striking similarities to Nazi SS uniforms.

The shared image depicted a predominantly black outfit. It featured a prominent belt, knee-high boots, and a distinctive cap. Trump posted the visual on his Truth Social platform, attributing its inspiration to the “discipline and functionality” of uniforms from the film “Starship Troopers.” Additionally, he noted its resemblance to Darth Vader’s costume from the “Star Wars” saga.

However, the online backlash focused heavily on historical comparisons. Critics widely suggested the Space Force uniform design mirrored the uniforms worn by the Nazi regime’s SS. This particular comparison fueled widespread debate and condemnation.

It remains unclear if this image represents the definitive Space Force uniform. The posting could merely be a conceptual proposal from the former Republican leader. The official status of the design has not been confirmed.

Previously, Trump had posted another image on Truth Social, showing the moon. Accompanying this visual was the declaration, “the moon is ours,” alongside a small American flag. Moreover, in late August, he announced the establishment of the United States Space Academy.

This academy aims to educate future generations of space professionals. Its curriculum will encompass training for astronauts, scientists, engineers, and public servants.

Graduates will commit to serving a period either in the U.S. Armed Forces or at NASA. This initiative highlights an ongoing expansion of the nation’s space program.
