Lehendakari Imanol Pradales has voiced a strong opinion regarding the central government’s management of the Ceuta crisis. He stated Friday that if the administration fails to steer this situation effectively, the current legislative term should come to an end. Pradales believes the government, led by Pedro Sánchez, is currently “knocked out” by the challenges in Ceuta.
Pradales shared his reflections during an interview. He specifically addressed the ongoing events in Ceuta and the Executive’s response. The regional leader asserted that if the crisis is not properly resolved, the legislature should conclude.
Moreover, Pradales commented on President Sánchez’s recent appearance in Congress. He noted “the solitude of President Sánchez” during the session addressing the Ceuta situation. This observation, in his view, carries significant weight.
Therefore, the Lehendakari highlighted a noticeable absence of leadership. He criticized the government’s inability to anticipate developments in the Ceuta crisis. Pradales contrasted this with Sánchez’s past leadership in emergencies like the pandemic, the DANA storm, or various wildfires. “But not in this instance,” he concluded, underscoring his disappointment with the current approach.
